I was at Target today, and I found some really cute shoes for Jenna…in the SHOE department!!! All this time, I have only been looking for shoes in the baby section. They have them, but just not many and they usually seem picked over. I guess I just thought they didn’t have infant sizes in the shoe department, and it never occurred to me to look. I’m such a moron. Well, now Jenna has some new shoes to switch out with the one pair she wears every day!

I have been such a random poster lately. A week with no posts, and then 3 posts in 3 days. Oh, well.
We have been giving Jenna water in a sippy cup for a while now. She won’t drink much–just a few sips here & there. But I thought when the time came for us to transition her milk to a sippy cup, it wouldn’t be that hard. I was wrong. We started giving her whole milk instead of formula, and she seems to like that just fine. However, when we put it in a sippy cup, she won’t touch it. She may take a few sips, like she does with her water, but then she pushes it away and shakes her head. If I put it in a bottle, she’ll suck back the whole thing. What am I supposed to do? I have several different kinds of sippy cups, and she acts the same way with all of them. If I just give it to her until she drinks it, she won’t drink it and she’ll get dehydrated. So I have ended up caving and giving her a bottle. Maybe she’ll see the other kids in the toddler room at her daycare drinking from a sippy cup, and decide she wants to do it too.
Monday she had her 1-year vaccinations, and I didn’t think much of it. Until yesterday around 11, when her daycare called to say she has a fever and she’s fussy and she won’t eat anything. Great. So I picked her up and had her with me the rest of the day. She threw up after I gave her tylenol, but then she was fine for a while. She’d play, she ate lunch, and she watched a little Sesame Street. She was clingy, and wanted to sit on my lap a lot, but other than that she was OK. I gave her more tylenol late in the afternoon and she was much better after that. This morning I gave her more, and am hoping that keeps the fever away for today. I felt bad trying to get her to drink from a sippy cup, especially after she had thrown up and since she had a fever.
It’s always something, isn’t it?
